Call for proposals 2020-2022

STERF has reserved about 2 million SEK per year for 2020, 2021 and 2022 for new “ordinary” research projects, and about 100.000 SEK for new “large scale trials / demonstrations” on golf courses. Deadline for application: September 30th 2019.

Vision - Golf Course 2030 Scandinavia

The main objective of Golf Course 2030 Scandinavia is for the golf industry to agree on a roadmap that secures optimal golf course condition and playability for current and future generations. The Golf Course 2030 programme is created in collaboration with the R&A. It is based on STERF´s R&D programme and STERF´s activities that contribute to the fulfilment of eight of the 17 SDGs in Agenda 2030.

Practical reestablishment of golf greens

The final report from the field study "Practical reestablishment of golf greens following winter damages" has been published. The project has explored the differences between slit, spike and drop sowing technology and the impact on germination, compared two different grass species in terms of germination and studied the use of wetting agents in the sowing process.
