STERF (Scandinavian Turfgrass and Environment Research Foundation) is the Nordic golf federations joint research body.
The vision of the foundation is:
to produce golf courses of a high standard while at the same time ensuring the sustainable use of natural resources and contributing to functioning ecosystems and a healthy environment
The activities of STERF are intended to lead to improvements in golf course quality, as well as economic and environmental gains.
STERF has reserved about 3 million SEK per year for 2023, 2024 and 2025 for new research projects.
We also recognise that industrial engagement and support is a critical component of research. Applicants are therefore encouraged to secure either additional cash and/or in-kind support for their planned research to deliver additional impact and outreach. Collaboration and joint projects between STERF and Nordic and international golf and research organisations are also desirable
Deadline for application: September 30th 2022.
Decisions on funding can be expected approximately by December 15th, 2022.
